Still, Liz certainly knew how to lounge in style. So we're taking some inspiration from her this month and devoting ourselves to all things soft, sexy and cosy. In honour of her superior lounging in Cleopatra, here is a little list of treats that have made for luxurious moments during lockdown, and which would also make for lovely Christmas presents.

Liz would absolutely have loved Laurence Tavernier's sexy velour dressing gown in the palest pink camellia. For the full Cleopatra effect spritz the room with Gault's Bois Secret which is scented with nutmeg, clove and cedar. 

If anything is made for superior lounging it is our fringed cashmere capes which wear like a warm hug. And we've spent hours of lockdown sorting out our toiletries into Laurence Tavernier's embroidered wash bags. 

Liz loved red. Red lipstick, scarves, capes, caftans, she wore them all. With her love of Switzerland, we're pretty sure that she'd scatter Altalena's handmade red tartan cushions and throws all over her Gstaad chalet at Christmas.

Grecian glamour was another Liz look and Laurence Tavernier's white robe with its satin lapels and belt adds more than a touch of movie star glamour to bath time and breakfast in bed. 

Christmas may be quiet this year, but there's no reason not to go to town on creating a beautiful wintry vibe inside. Altalena's citrusy, cinnamony scented pillows and Castelbel's tree candles bring the forest indoors.  

Our bedrooms are our sanctuary more than ever these days so why not soften them with a pampering faux-fur throw and Portus Cale's peony and rose room scent? Then match the scene in Eberjey's slouchy, white-piped PJ's. 

Lockdown has meant a radical reappraisal of loungewear. Tatty tracksuits are out, and wool-and-cashmere Antoniazzi twinsets are in. It looks so much better when sipping that nightcap out of a crystal tumbler.

Home workwear has also had a significant facelift during lockdown. Crushed velvet pants have now replaced jeans and over-sized knitwear has replaced slim-fit shirts. And, the more candles the better quite frankly. 

If you ever do make it outside again, why change? That Antoniazzi trackie looks so darn good. Just add the matching gilet and a pair of their super comfortable trainers and off you go for that walk strutting in true Liz style. 

The only other thing you might consider is a pair of Gala gloves with hand-stitched detailing and a cashmere pompom hat. Now, you know Liz would nab one of those given her penchant for all things furry. And, we have them in dozens of delicious colours.
