No generation in history has enjoyed such easy international travel as us. While this may turn out to be the summer of our lifetimes when foreign travel is largely curtailed, we can still revel in exploring our own backyard and the endless beauty of Europe as the continent reopens. After all, Europe has almost everything one could wish for: mountains, beaches, green rolling hills and even deserts as arid as any in New Mexico.

Perhaps as we also adjust to a slower pace of life, we can enter into the spirit of days gone by staying a littler longer, dressing a little chicer and noticing more of the details along the way. Bon voyage!

Oh, imagine seeing the Acropolis sparkling beneath the moon with nary a tourist in sight. It is a once in a lifetime opportunity, so dress like a goddess in Maliparmi's silk trouser suit.

Even Spain's most popular beaches are likely to be half empty, but that's no reason to arrive unprepared. We're planning on packing this season's sunnies from Tess van Ghert along with some raffia accessories from Florence.

The best way to travel in a socially distanced fashion is undoubtedly to set sail around the Med - there are the Greek islands, of course, but there are dozens off Croatia, too. Pack lots of light and bright Majestic's linen T-shirts.

Is there any view better than the one from the verandah of the Capri Palace? We think not. But you better dress to impress even when you're affecting an artfully dressed down style in Maliparmi's beaded linen shirt.

What could be better than a pair of beaded culottes for cycling down the promenade of your chosen seaside town. Now more than ever we cherish our two wheeled steeds, but there's no need to spoil that view with lycra!

We can feel the salty sea breeze on this Amalfi terrace and what better to wear on this cliffside walk than Lenny's sheer chiffon kaftan that matches the colour of the trailing grapevine.

Some of you will no doubt be escaping in your cars through the chunnel to meander down the autoroute to the South of France. That means you have plenty of room in the boot for beaded bags and bejewelled sandals.

Sometimes less is simply more as this chic little black dress from Peserico demonstrates. Dress it up or down with heels, a rakish hat and one of our very snazzy beaded Florentine bag.

By August things are just sizzling on southern beaches so rather than wilting in the shade like a wallflower pack Tess van Ghert's bright red coral beads and some bold accessories and insist on standing out from the scenery.

Just in time for the summer hols, we've received a handful of lovely, light, linen dresses and this versatile striped shirt dress by Daniel Mayer. It's bound to end up one of the go-to piece in your summer wardrobe.

We've packed our Lenny swimwear and kaftan and you should, too, as we have a handful of pieces left. At the end of the day, you don't need much to enjoy a beautiful day at the beach. Happy holidays!
