The origins of the day can be found in the Roman festival of Lupercalia, when pagans sacrificed goats and women wandered through the streets in their hides in order to promote fertility!
Thankfully things have moved on since then and we can now look forward to sweet heart-shaped chocolates, beautiful bouquets of flowers and heart-felt love notes from our beaus. In perfect time, we've also just received the first few items of our Spring collection. It includes some intriguing dark florals, crisp cream coats and jackets, and a dash of gold jewellery from Tess van Ghert.
A perfect mid-season outfit is this beautifully cut silk dress from Aspesi with a delicate print of primroses on a deep black background.

If you're wondering what to wear on your Valentine's date, consider Aspesi's elegant cream trouser suit, which is both super glamorous and practical.

We are just loving Tess van Ghert's new chain-link choker and bracelet which are bold, beautiful and bling-y in all the right ways.

In honour of all those early spring flowers (primroses, daffs and irises) which brighten up these grey days, why not liven up your wardrobe with Piazza Sempione's lemon-yellow trousers.

While Spring is definitely on the way, we admit that it is still rather chilly. That's why we're thrilled to have received Herno's smart new trench coat. We predict it will be one of our pieces of the season.

If anything says date-night loud and clear, it is Aspesi's romantic ruffled top, which has just the right level of pretty while still being super chic.

For those of you who prefer trousers and skirts to dresses, we nabbed those dark Aspesi florals in these gorgeous silk shirts as well.

Wherever you're going, arrive in style in Aspesi's versatile cotton canvas coat. It will work just as well for evening dates as summer parties.

To finish off that Valentine's outfit with a bit of pizzazz, snap up this vintage-style gold bag from Inge Christopher. It's pure old-school glamour.
